The Business Inn in Bacolod

Located right beside Bacolod City’s main thoroughfare, the Business Inn had always been our choice accommodation since our first trip to the City of Smiles, and it continues to be so.

We first got wind of this hotel during an off-peak promo they had, for a measly Php800.00 we got a Junior Executive room (upgraded from the Regular one we were supposed to have since it was full).

The Hotel Chef at The Business Inn's Breakfast BuffetThe hotel’s facade was as generic as hotel architecture went and we really had no idea what was in store for us; we were pleasantly surprised after checking in.

The amenities are great, Wi-Fi signal’s strong, the room clean and well furnished, the staff polite and helpful, the location very convenient for getting around the city, and the rates totally affordable. We also heard that they serve a mean breakfast at their café.

What more can we ask for, right? More actually.

Experiencing morning, midday and night coffee and snacks on a seaside veranda in Pagudpud, we were really looking for a hotel where we can have a similar experience, it was a long shot, Pagudpud being a beach destination, and Bacolod a city, but we were willing to settle for any kind of veranda. This was one thing missing from our favorite hotel in Bacolod.

Breakfast Al Fresco at our Makeshift Veranda at Bacolod's Business InnUnable to find such hotel, we went back to the Business Inn and asked the staff if they have such rooms (well, we really know they have none, but we asked anyways), and lo and behold they have such, well sort of.

The inn had an atrium filled with palm trees surrounded by rooms and it turned out that we can move the chairs and table from the room as makeshift veranda furniture. There really were not that many activities on the hallways especially on the upper floors so privacy was really not an issue.

In the evenings it was coffee (instant 3-in-1’s we bought outside and asked for hot water from the staff) and chips (and chicharon) while talking about the day’s adventure; in the mornings, breakfast from the hotel while planning for the day ahead.

The Business Inn seemed to have everything we were looking for. Hopefully on our next visit, they’d have a rooftop swimming pool too (now that’s wishful thinking, but who knows haha).
