The Manuel Quezon, Sergio Osmena, and Filipino Woman Park in Corregidor

Located adjacent to Corregidor’s massive Filipino Heroes Memorial are three small parks dedicated to President Manuel L. Quezon, President Sergio Osmeña and the Filipino Woman. This was the second stop for the Corregidor tranvia tour.
The President Sergio Osmeña Park in Corregidor
The first park is dedicated to President Manuel Luis Quezón y Molina, the first President of the Philippine Commonwealth. He was the first ever Filipino to govern the country, winning against Emilio Aguinaldo and Gregorio Aglipay during the country’s first national presidential election in 1935.

The second marker is for President Sergio Osmeña y Suico. He was the second President of the Philippine Commonwealth, rising to the presidency after President Manuel L. Quezon succumbed to tuberculosis.

The third sculpture was dedicated to the Filipino Woman, recognizing their bravery and contribution to preserve our freedom during the war.

These three parks are actually just small parcels of grassy spot and you can hardly call these as true parks due to their size. Each consists of an area of roughly 50 square meters with the statue of each in its midst.

The statues of the two Philippine presidents are made of bronze and I wish that the sculpture of the Filipino Woman, which looks like it was made of concrete, was also made with the same material as the other two to keep the uniformity of the monuments.
