Dusk at Emohruo Beach Restobar at Pagudpud's Saud Beach

For dinner, we headed to Evangeline Beach Resort’s Emohruo Restobar. Researching for a good place to eat out in Pagudpud, this restaurant’s chicken curry keeps on popping up on Google, so we decided to try it out. The resto’s strange name as explained by one of the waiters is simply Our Home spelled backwards, quite creative if I  must say.

Eggplant Omelet (P73.00) at Pagudpud's Saud BeachThey serve mostly Asian dishes with a twist. Some of their must-try offerings are the Emohruo’s Wake Up Shake Up (egg omelet with cheese, ham, mushroom, carrot with toasted bread & coffee), Seafood Barbecue (medley of seafood marinated with spicy S.S.S. & grilled, with buttered vegetable sidings), Fishy Rolls (fillet of fish filled with crabmeat, parmesan cheese, lettuce & seaweed with lemon butter-tarragon sauce), and Ruthy Rolls (eggplant, carrots, sayote, lettuce w/ cheese & seaweed roll-ups served w/ mushroom herb sauce).

Chicken Curry (P265.00) at Pagudpud's Saud BeachTheir food choices are enormous. I was supposed to photograph their menu but opted to just do it in the morning (which I never got to do) as it was too thick and the light was too weak.

We ordered their chicken curry (Php265.00) and eggplant omelet (Php73.00) dishes, and got their turon ala mode (Php58.00) for desserts. Servings were quite generous and we were told too late that they were already good for two Turon ala Mode (P58.00) at Pagudpud's Saud Beachpersons. As expected,  we had a hard time finishing everything off.

The curry was flavorful and spicy, although it was too strong for me. The eggplant omelet was just right, with its roasted woody flavor combined with the slightly crispy egg coating. The dessert was the best among the bunch; the banana, which was wrapped in a dimsum roll, was fried to crisp. It was then topped off with cold ice cream and doused with sweet chocolate syrup. The contrast between the hot dish and the cold ice cream was really something new for me. The taste was heavenly.

For those who love to eat and doesn’t mind strong-flavored dishes, Emohruo is definitely the place to go to while in Pagudpud’s Saud Beach. Add the rustic interior of the place, the fresh smell of the open sea, the warm and polite staff and the not-so-expensive prices and we’ve got a winning diner here.
