Ozine Fest Cosplayer

I chanced upon an Anime convention a month ago while strolling about in Megamall. It was Ozine Fest 2010, an annual event organized by Otakuzine Anime Magazine.

This was Otakuzine’s fifth year in celebrating Ozine Fest, the first one being held during 2005 at Robinson’s Galleria. Ozine Fest draws Anime Ozine Fest Cosplayerfans from all over the metro into a three day event featuring computer game tournaments, art contests, JPop and KPop dance competitions, band performances, swap meets, artist signing, and of course the much anticipated solo and group Cosplay contests.

Got a hard-to-find toy you’re looking for? This is where you’ll probably find it. Spread through the whole floor were heaps and Ozine Fest Customized Doll heaps of toys, accessories, videos and comic books for sale. Their prices quite a bargain too  compared to toy collectors stores.

Entry to these conventions is usually marked at a hundred pesos; your ticket also acting as a stub for a raffle draw at the end of each day.

I just love shooting these events. Its like a regional festival on its own, complete with costumes and performances, only this time they’re all Anime inspired. And these kids are not camera shy at all. They flaunt their outfits and pose their hearts out for the throng of fans and photographers that flock these gatherings.
